The International Youth Parliament (IYP) is a global network of young leaders and activists that advocates for the rights and freedoms of young people and their communities.

In order to achieve its goals, IYP:

  • promotes youth participation in the development process
  • supports skills and capacity building programs
  • advocates for the rights and freedoms of young people and their communities
  • supports young peoples’ on-the-ground initiatives to achieve human rights, sustainable development and a culture of peace.

Its website offers access to:

  • background information on a range of issues of interest for young people around the world, including:
    • access to and privatisation of education
    • HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care for youth
    • export orientated manufacturing industries and young workers
    • trafficking of young women
    • indigenous youth
    • vulnerability of agricultural youth
  • information on the IYP Campaign, including the Youth Commission into Globalisation Report and the IYP’s Youth Guide to Globalisation
  • the skills centre, where a diverse range of information, from how to write a press release to how to successfully recruit volunteers, is available
