The ITU (part of UN) is a world-wide organisation within which governments and private sector coordinate the establishment and operation of telecommunication networks and services; it is responsible for the regulation, standardisation, coordination and development of international telecommunications as well as the harmonisation of national policies. As well as information on the ITU Gopher includes access to the DUNDIS directory of UN Databases, Register of activities of the UN system, database of books in print from the UN system, database of UN serial publications, Voice of America and French Press Review [Much of this data seems to have been removed in November 1994, perhaps as part of survey WHO is conducting in relation to former ACCIS database distribution.
