SPERO – Social Policy: Expertise, Recommendations, Overviews – is a Russian language electronic journal. The first issue was published in spring 2004 featuring the papers in a wide range of social problems, sharing updated information on recent and future events and inviting for discussion on topical social policy aspects. The journal presents economic, social, legal etc. approaches to the problems with focus on the following issues:
- methodological (discussion of the content and issues of social policy, critical review of well-known and new methods of social research)
- analysis(expertise of political decisions and reality
- information (legislation updates, new social projects and social experience, professional reviews, highlights of the recent analytical papers published in leading printed Russian journals)
- educational (articles by distinguished Russian researchers and translations)
- capacity building (research from the regions research, interviews with authorities, etc. )
