The Institute of National Affairs is a privately-funded, non-profit research institute founded in 1976. Its activities include:
- carrying out research into the economy, taxation, land, trade, coastal shipping, industrialisation, law and order, agriculture, mining, small business, government expenditure, fisheries, forestry, human capital formation and labour
- publishing smaller research papers and speech series papers
- conducting public seminars and helps to organise development forums.
