The World Lung Foundation works in partnership with organisations throughout the world that share the mission of improving lung health.
The Foundation cooperates closely with agencies working in the field of tuberculosis control, such as the STOP TB Partnership and the World Health Organization (WHO). In particular, the Foundation partners with the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), a non-profit organisation that is concerned with the fight against tuberculosis and other lung diseases.
The Foundation develops projects and supports three principal areas of activity:
- Research with emphasis on tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, asthma, acute respiratory infections, child lung health, tobacco prevention and control, and air pollution
- Public health programmes and initiatives arising from this research
- Education and training related to lung health
