UNDP Country Office in Armenia was established in 1993 to support the government to accomplish the millennial development agenda and reach the overarching goal of cutting poverty in half by 2015.

The key areas of cooperation are:

  • democratic governance
  • poverty reduction
  • crisis prevention and recovery
  • energy and environment
  • information and communication technologies
  • HIV/AIDS.

The UNDP Armenia Programmes on each area address the issues of economic and social development including studies of different sectors in Armenia and situation analysis. International and national consultants explore the impact of political, economic, and institutional reforms on building a democratic society and free market economy. They produce a number of reports and policy papers available online. The documents are in English and/or Armenian.
