Tribhuvan University is an institution of teaching and research in Nepal, focussing on, but not limited to, areas such as economics, social sciences, agriculture, medicine, and engineering. The aims of the University include accumulating, advancing and disseminating knowledge, and encouraging and promoting research in arts, science, technology as well as in the vocational fields.

The University has five research centres which focus on developing research and publications on a range of socio-economic and cultural issues, and they are:

  • Centre for Economic Development and Administration( CEDA)
  • Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS)
  • Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST)
  • Research Centre for Educational Innovation and Development (CERID)
  • Curriculum Development Centre (CDC)

In addition to these research centres, there are also a number of Technical Institutes which focus on teaching and research in the fields of technology, medicine, engineering, forestry, and agriculture.
