Poverty Frontiers is a forum for organisations and individuals involved in poverty reduction to exchange best practices and lessons learned. It is an initiative of USAID’s Poverty Analysis and Social Safety Net team (PASSN) and works in the following four areas:
- analysis: increasing the understanding of the links between economic growth, social development, and poverty reduction
- tools development: identifying, analysing, and prioritising policies and programmes that enable the poor to build, protect, and increase the productivity of their assets
- field support: helping USAID missions and other USAID bureaus incorporate pro-poor development approaches in their strategies, programme designs, and activities
- knowledge management: promoting knowledge and understanding of pro-poor development strategies and approaches within and outside USAID. Their goals is to increase the effectiveness of USAID investments in sustainable development, by helping poor people and households stabilise and increase their assets and incomes.
This site also offers a publications library of innovative research and analytical and programmatic tools, as well as a platform for communities of practice across various sectors.
