The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus is the central bank of Belarus. The main areas of the Bank’s activity include:
- conduct of monetary policy
- functioning of the payment system
- strengthening the banking system
The Bank has interest in research whereby it established two institutions of an educational and research nature: Education Centre and Higher College of Banking. It also organizes a research papers competition.
The Centre organizes seminars, most of which however are only open to the National Bank specialists or for bankers.
The College of Banking was created to:
- prepare banking specialists for the market economy
- raise the qualifications of banks’ personnel
- perform services such as information and consulting in the area of banking
