The Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) conducts research in forestry issues, and disseminate research findings amongst relevant research bodies with a similar mandate.
KEFRI implements its research through four research programmes:
- farm forestry
- natural forests
- dryland forests
- plantation forests
KEFRI also runs a service programme mainly dealing with information documentation and dissemination. The Institute has six research Centres namely: Muguga, Karura, Kitui, Gede, Londiani and Maseno.
