The International Youth Parliament (IYP) is a global network of young leaders and activists that advocates for the rights and freedoms of young people and their communities.
In order to achieve its goals, IYP:
- promotes youth participation in the development process
- supports skills and capacity building programs
- advocates for the rights and freedoms of young people and their communities
- supports young peoples’ on-the-ground initiatives to achieve human rights, sustainable development and a culture of peace.

- background information on a range of issues of interest for young people around the world, including:
- access to and privatisation of education
- HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care for youth
- export orientated manufacturing industries and young workers
- trafficking of young women
