The Department of International Relations at Karachi University undertakes research and teaching on international relations, with a particular focus on South Asia and Pakistan. It offers Honors, Masters, M.Phil and Phd. Programs in international relations. Since 1998, the syllabus has been revised to focus on conceptual and regional studies.

Past projects undertaken by the Department include:

The Department runs the Program on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (PPCR). The program’s objectives include training, networking and promoting research and studies on conflict resolution in local languages. The program’s areas of focus are:

  • Confidence-building measures (CBMs)
  • Peace studies (PS)
