The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is a specialized agency which aims to encourage and support the efforts of its Member States to foster agricultural development and rural well-being in their territories. IICA focuses actions on six strategic areas:
- trade and agribusiness development
- technology and innovation
- agriculture health and food safety
- sustainable rural development
- information and communication
- education and training
The institute works with a variety of partners including national authorities and the major stakeholders of the community of agriculture and to ensure that agricultural sector is competitive, technologically prepared, environmentally managed and socially equitable.
