CEDE, Centro de Estudios sobre el Desarrollo Económico, was established in 1958, as part of the School of Economics at Universidad de los Andes.
The School of Economics has simultaneously been involved with teaching and research, through an undergraduate program, several graduate programs and through a very close relationship with CEDE.
At CEDE there are 25-35 researchers -half of them with doctoral studies-working in Demography, Education, Labor Economics, Environmental Economics, Growth, Poverty and Income Distribution, Crime, Regulation and Industrial Organization, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Regional Economics, Agricultural Economics and Project Evaluation.
