The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health/Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is a pioneer in the field of strategic, research-based communication for behavior change and health promotion that has helped transform the theory and practice of public health. CCP was established at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 1988 in recognition of the proven importance of communication in public health programs and in keeping with the leadership role the Johns Hopkins University has played in this field.
CCP is part of the Department of Population and Family Health Sciences and collaborates closely with the Departments of International Health and Health Policy and Management. Center staff and faculty teach health communication courses in several departments. CCP provides communications expertise worldwide in a number of fields, including HIV/AIDS/STD Prevention, Women’s Health, Health Care Reform and Public Health Advocacy.
