Departments include Agricultural Economics; Land Resource and Environment; Economics; Management; Public Administration; Educational Administration; Anthropology; Geography; Political Science; Sociology and Social Work; Statistics and Demography. In addition, the University has five research centres:
- the Medicinal Plants and Drug Discovery Research Centre
- the Centre for Gender Research, Studies and Resources
- the Agricultural Research and Resource Centre
- the Development Research Centre
- the Natural Resources and Environment Research Centre.
The University’s Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences also publish the Journal of Eritrean Studies, an interdisciplinary journal covering Eritrean culture, politics, economy, environment, society, history, languages, methodological studies, and other fields.
