EDGE Europe retreat 2019: Building Community.Changing Philanthropy.

Building community” and “Changing Philanthropy” are the two pillars of the new EDGE strategic framework. It’s also the focus of this year’s EDGE Europe retreat: We put the EDGE community at the very centre of our organising efforts, so we grow stronger to change ourselves, and the sector.

The yearly EDGE Europe retreat is an important convening to cultivate what brings us together in EDGE: The conviction that we have to acknowledge the systemic, interconnected character for the fundamental crises situation the world is in, and to seek for systemic answers, through collective experimentation and learning. The retreat is the annual cornerstone to strengthen the EDGE community in Europe: We welcome new members to the community, we explore and reaffirm what connects us, with the aim to strengthen EDGE as a home for systemic change philanthropy, and a place to make a difference in shaping a world we like to pass on to future generations.

We’d love to see that future generation at the retreat, and we want to be inclusive of people with caring responsibilities. That’s why we welcome children for the first time at an EDGE event: Please indicate if you would like to bring children when you register, and we will discuss and arrange child care, together with you.

The retreat will take place at La Bergerie de Villarceaux, a beautiful organic farm outside Paris, from 26 to 28 June 2019.

As always at EDGE, the methodology is highly participatory and informed by an “unconferencing” approach. You can suggest conversations already when you register, or during the retreat. A detailed programme will be shared in due time.

Participation is open only to EDGE members, unless agreed otherwise on individual basis. If you are not an EDGE member (yet) but would like to attend please get in touch with Tobias Troll (tobias@edgefunders.org). Venue, accommodation and catering are generously covered by the Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation, but a voluntary solidarity contribution to cover organising costs is highly appreciated.

Space is limited, so better register quickly!

Please get in touch with Tobias Troll (EDGE Europe) if you have any questions!
