The nonprofit Center for High Impact Philanthropy was founded in 2006 by Wharton alumni and is housed at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice. However, the Center reaches beyond Penn to engage nonprofits/NGOs, philanthropists, foundations, policy and research centres, and universities around the world working towards more effective philanthropy.

The Center’s goal is to increase the effectiveness of the philanthropic marketplace so that capital flows to where it can achieve the greatest social impact. This mission is approached in two ways: sector-specific analysis & tools and field-building resources.
