The Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology (RFSTE) performs independent research which addresses significant ecological and social issues. RFSTE:

  • works on issues of biodiversity conservation and protecting people’s rights which it perceives are threatening people’s livelihoods and the environment by centralised systems of monoculture in forestry, agriculture and fisheries
  • works in close partnership with local communities and social movements
  • is involved in campaigning and advocacy work, the details of which can be found on the website.

The website contains further information on publications available, which can be ordered online. The website also covers the work of Navdanya, a participatory research initiative founded by world-renowned scientist and environmentalist
