PLCPD was formally established in December 1989 as a non-stock, non-profit foundation whose aim is the formulation of viable public policies requiring legislation on population management and socio-economic development. It offers services to members including access to studies and data on population and sustainable development. Its research unit’s aims are to:
- study and analyse policy issues concerning population and human development
- monitor legislation and parliamentary bills
- undertake strategic and oversight studies evaluating past and present legislation.
