The LACEA/IDB/World Bank Network on Inequality and Poverty is a joint initiative that aims to promote knowledge and expertise regarding the causes and consequences of poverty, inequality, and social exclusion, and the whole range of policies, institutions, and social structures that influence their dynamics as well as the impact of public action. The network has national chapters in fifteen countries in Latin America.

The activities of the network including providing research grants for research on macroeconomic, microeconomic and institutional aspects of poverty and inequality, providing awards for young economists, and organising seminars and meetings, including an annual meeting.
