The Health Economics Unit (HEU) in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at the University of Cape Town undertakes research, training and consultancy in the area of health economics and management.
The focus areas of research at HEU are:
- equity in health
- health sector reform
- health care financing and expenditure
- pharmaceutical policy and regulation
- economic evaluation of key health care programmes
