The CTO is a partnership between Commonwealth governments and telecommunications businesses to promote ICT in the interests of consumers, businesses and social and economic development.
The site contains information on a number of programmes, including:
- building digital opportunities (BDO), where the organisation worked mainly on work on capacity-building in ICT policy-making and regulation
- the Programme for Development and Training (PDT), a programme of training and expert assistance in every aspect of telecommunications for Commonwealth developing countries
- workshops on regulatory issues, which can be delivered by either party organisation anywhere in the world, developed in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
- a variety of research programmes around the world
Events, such as international ICT related conferences, are listed on the site and there is a useful glossary for names and acronyms. An email newsletter is also available.
