CRC was established more than 30 years ago as a think-tank conducting research and offering graduate courses in economics and management. It gradually expanded its education activities and, in 1995, it was awarded University status and became the University of Asia and the Pacific.
The University’s Institutes and Schools include:
- the Institute of Political Economy, which is involved in various research and extension projects related to the political economy of international trade and finance, globalistion and governance, and development and underdevelopment
- the School of Economics, whose major research areas include economic forecasting; financial markets; wage determination; and macroeconomics
- the School of Education, which carries out institutional, national and regional research in major areas of development education
- the School of Management, whose research agenda covers strategic planning and management; trade, investments, and global competitiveness; enterprise and area development; ethics and excellence in enterprise; and sustainable development.
