The Global Philanthropy and Foundation Building website is part of The Synergos Institute’s efforts to strengthen the institutional and financial capacity of grant-making foundations and other private social investment organisations to support local efforts to reduce poverty, increase equity and advance social justice.
Synergos provides an array of capacity-building services to over 400 foundations, philanthropic support organisations and social investment groups in nine countries in Southern Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, and more limited services globally.
The Global Philanthropy website is a tool in sharing information and experience between organisations in a way that will help practitioners to strengthen their own organisations. It presents:
- a knowledge base of best-practice experience from foundations around the world and pertinent supplementary research
- a growing database of foundations operating in Southern countries.
