Established since 1976, the Research and Studies Centre on International Development (CERDI) is specialised in economics. It is part of the Economic Management Faculty of Science of the University of Clermont, University of Auvergne. It is a teaching and training research centre providing specialised courses and advanced degrees in economics. It has linkage with other units and institutes of research. CERDI works in close connection with principal French and international institutions oriented towards development research.

CEDRI is involved in the following activities:

  • offering MA degrees in different areas related to economic development
  • offering specialized advanced degrees and diplomas in economic development
  • offering doctoral degrees
  • providing training in economic policy and in data management
  • organizing seminars
  • disseminating publications
  • organizing symposiums and conferences

The research of CERDI is directed mainly towards the analysis of economic policies and the analysis of inequality between transitional developing countries and developed countries in terms of economic development. The organisation’s website is in French and provides useful links related to thematic economic issues, an online library, announcements on upcoming events, a thematic searchable database as well as an online forum.
