CPCFPU was founded in 1992 to conduct research into the issue of Ukranian foreign and security policy. The main purpose of CPCFPU is the completion of research projects into current problems of security, political and social development of Ukraine, achieving integration into the European and world community, disarmament, conversion.

CPCFPU publishes analytical reports on a wide range of issues from civil society, human and minorities’ rights, external migration, social-economic condition of population and potential of conflicts in the country, and territorial reconstruction of Ukraine, power elites, to problems of the Armed Forces and the military-industrial complex.

In January 1997 the Center launched the project Ukranian Monitor, which includes:

  • weekly headlines and comments with brief analysis of events
  • regular public opinion polls
  • quarterly reports on main directions of foreign and security policy
  • annual report on short-term and long-term trends in foreign and security policy
  • occasional research reports (4-5 each month)
