Offers support beyond grants
Amazon Watch’s country teams provide legal support, advocacy, communication and media support, and coordinated mobilization of Global South and Global North activists. In the Global North, mobilize activists and alliances with environmental justice organizations; carry out public pressure and actions of solidarity to cut off the flow of money (especially before projects become active); and disrupt the international flow of cash – for example, certain kinds of financing only go towards projects (i.e., refineries, pipelines, etc.) abroad to amplify the struggles of those on the ground. Additionally, hold institutions accountable for harms that have already occurred (through policy change) to prevent it from happening again.
