Food Agriculture and Natural Resource Policy Network (FANRPAN) was established to enhance the capacity for policy formulation and analysis in the region.

The core activities of FANRPAN are:

  • to promote appropriate agricultural policy in order to reduce poverty, increase food security and enhance sustainable agriculture
  • to improve policy analysis, research and formulation of priority Southern African Customs Union (SADC) agricultural research themes
  • develop human and institutional capacity for co-ordinated dialogue among stakeholders
  • improve policy decision-making through the generation, exchange and use of policy related information.
