The Laboratoire de Recherche sur la Pauvreté et la Sécurité Alimentaire Durable (LARPSAD) is a food security, poverty alleviation, and socio-economics focussed research centre within the Université de Lomé. The LARPSAD aims to provide a suitable framework to tackle the concerns of the African economies.

LARPSAD’s research focuses on the following areas:

  • food security and nutrition
  • agro-economics
  • poverty and microfinance
  • trade liberalisation and macroeconomic theory.

In collaboration with numerous international and regional partners, the LARPSAD aims to meet the following objectives:

  • to undertake evaluations of development and research projects
  • to carry out financial and accounting consultations for national and international development organisations
  • to organise seminars and conferences.
