Established in 1985, LUMS consists of:
- the Graduate School of Business Administration, which offers a Masters programme in business and contains an executive development education
- the School of Arts and Sciences, which offers undergraduate teaching in economics, computer sciences, social sciences and mathematics and postgraduate training in computer sciences
- the LUMS Research Centre, which primarily deals with major economic and management issues faced by Pakistan and the region
- the Small and Medium Enterprise Centre (SMEC), a research centre investigating the role that government policy and sociopolitical influences play in the development of small and medium scale enterprises; SMEC also caters to the training and development needs of small and medium enterprises.
